Well, I've played and beaten the game twice, once on Normal, Once on hard, the second time I sat down and re-analyzed all the cut-scenes, yet one at the end of the main story confuses me big-time. Well, that's debatable. But why so?
STORY
Prototype 2 James Heller Voice ActorSo, two years after the original game and the 'first infection.' Mercer has returned with a new infection. You play as Sergeant James Heller, and you get infected by Mercer. Your job is to stop the return of Blackwatch, stop the infection, and kill Mercer.All the while swearing up a storm and fighting his pathetic and generic 'Evolved'. Time to get to work.
GAMEPLAY
While a few powers are missing from the first game, it's still fun. And a couple new powers get added. For one, no more armor and shield powers. BUT, you can steal weapons from vehicles, such as ripping a rocket pod off a helicopter. The flow of combat is still there, and it's still fast paced. 'Mass'powers are easier to understand and accumulate. All in all, gameplay is still very enjoyable.
PRESENTATION
While this game pales in comparison to current gen games, it still looks better than the first game. Buildings aren't as bland as well and there's a bit more color to the world. Dialogue and writing is still great. Heller's voice actor, however, is the illegitimate child of Samuel L Jackson. Characters all have more personality.
FINAL LEVEL (SPOILERS, MUTHAFACKA)
So, you've conquered New York Zero, defeated Blackwatch and Mercer's men, and saved the city. You've got your minigun ready and your blade stowed. Time to face Mercer. The Mercer fight is interesting, with Mercer countering you if you use the same weapon as him. If you can dodge his most predictable attacks however, you'll kill him and consume Patient Zero of the virus. So congratulations on saving the city.
Now go break some stuff with cheats.

FINAL CONCLUSIONHeller prototype
So, I enjoyed this game. The story was fun and the characters much more interesting than the last game. It's definitely worth a buy, even if you just want a game you can 'experiment' in, like trying to walk through restricted areas as a civilian.

My final rating for this game is..A Deadman Wonderland out of 10. It's bloody, big, fun, and I love it.
